Cigányok Svédországban:
Karl-Olov Arnstberg, a professor of ethnology with a long time interest (20 years) in gypsy culture has written an ethnological study of the interplay across a cultural border, published in June 1998, called "Svenskar och zigenare" - "The Swedes and the Gypsies".
Arnstberg suggests that criminality, drug problems, welfare dependency and conflicts with neighbours and authorities are typical of Roma.
"They have been offered housing, education, economic security, work training and employment of different kinds and through various programmes. The desire to help the Gypsies has been very strong – it is possible to talk about positive discrimination from the social authorities. However, attempts to integrate Gypsies as self-supporting citizens, loyal to the state, have been unsuccessful. Today a majority among the Gypsies in Sweden are dependent on social welfare. Crimes and escalating drug abuse are problematic traits. Nevertheless, the various Gypsy groups in Sweden are ethnically strong and successful in defending their ethnic identity. (p.168)"

For those who can read swedish i recomend the book. Gypsy culture seems hard on women, children and those gypsies that are turning into traitors by assimilating into mainstream society.

"The Swedish policy has aimed at assimilation. The assimilation policy has had some success when it comes to the Gypsies with a long tradition in Sweden, but fared very poorly with the newer arrivals. It has turned out that few Gypsies get employed, and relatively more Gypsies have become dependent on cash support from the municipalities than is the case for any other ethnic group in Sweden.
Gypsies cultivating their particular traits in clothes and morals are perceived as provoking by many Swedes. This minority group has continued to be the most stigmatized ethnic minority."

szegregálódj, nyugodtan! :) - de elöbb végy egy hidegfürdöt, mert tök melegre pörögted magad... -
nekem viszont jobban tetszik a sokszínü világ!
a szomszédaimmal való kapcsolatom nem fejezhetö ki számokban, de szerencsére, ez csak neked probléma. |

Ne terelj ilyen idealista baromságokkal, hanem véssed le a három számot, hogy lássuk mennyire vagy érintett a témában!
Nem akarok együtt élni cigányokkal, nem akarok közös bulikat velük, nem akarom, hogy a gyerekem valaha is egy cigánygyerek közelébe kerüljön.
Nem akarlak utánozni, van saját megoldásom a problémára. Ha nem lehet szegregálni a cigányokat, akkor magamat és leendő családomat szegregálom a cigányoktól. |

itt a társadalom igyekszik megelözni a konfliktusokat: kölcsönös megismerés, közeledés és kommunikáció.
van marockói, szerb és finn meg orosz szomszédom. s persze svéd. együtt parkosítjuk a környéket, közös kerti bulikat tartunk, a játszótéren odafigyelünk egymás gyerekére, locsoljuk egymás növényeit, ha elutazunk... ilyenek.
Lehet gondolkozni és/vagy utánozni, waczak úr. |
